Conditional clause ‘என்றால்’:

[…] என்றால்

Translates as: ‘if it is the case that…, if….’

Any statement followed by என்றால், the conditional form of the quotative verb என், is an alternative method of forming the conditional clause. It is useful to use with verbs that have no conditional form like வேண்டும் and இல்லை.

E.g. கூட்ட (crowd/meeting) நடப்பென்றால் என்ன? – If there will be a crowding or meeting, so what?
E.g. கொரோனா-வைரஸ் என்றால் என்ன? – so what if it is Corona?
